Download the allied intent 0.1 mod it have some good heli maps. Some heli even have AA missiles. Night maps too!

There was a server with the POE mod for BF: vietnam named "Chopper Whores Unite" or something like that. There were land vehicles, but it was mainly all helicopters: Cobras, HUEYs, Little Birds, etc. It was damn sweet, but it would need to be a VERY large map for anything fun. I think BF2 should have a large map like the one I'm thinking: large canyons/crevaces, lots of hills. This makes the heli battles SO much more fun, as you can do cool stunts.

EA said the second booster pack will be more vehicle based, something like that BF1942 map (don't know the name anymore, was in desert and practicly only tanks and stuff) and that other BF1942 map, also in desert, only airplanes and tanks where important .

So, I think there is a good chance you will have some good chopper fights over there

That would be sweet. Additionally, the thread starter might like to download some user-made maps: one of them is nothing more than ocean, carriers and a bunch of attack helos... :-)

2nd map pack in TBF2, a map called Nanhai, had nothing other than helos, carriers, and stationary carrier anti air.

http://www.alliedintent.com 3 heli vs 3heli night and day maps operation clean sweep 64 if you like dog fights the single player bots will shoot you down from the air! its like 6 vs 6 airplane fight at the same time! and those bots are not stupid like in vanilla bf2.

This has pros and cons.

Pro: It's great for chopper fanatics.

Con: If a couple really good crews get on one team and tv guide well, the other team will never get off the pad again once they die the first time. Then the noobs will start whining, "let us up!".

Then a rapefest would follow. That's the way it is when you want to WIN.

They should put copters in Karkand. Now that would be sweet. They would fly around hiting **** and probably missing most of the time. Since copters suck at hitting in between buildings
