How do you throw grenades a long way?

Real noob question here...sorry

How exactly do you get distance on grenade throws. I press down my left button, hold it down for a couple of seconds and then release. The grenade usually drops at my feet and I end up running away for dear life!!!

I though the distance thrown was based on how long you held the mouse button down...obviously not.

I'd appreciate any advice you can give before I blow my A** off!

point mouse up at about 50 degrees or so and jump when you throw it

Also, if you right click, it will power up your throw. You'll see a little meter at the bottom going up.

Negative. Left clicking is the farthest throw, excpet for when you're jumping. Right click gives you the option to throw shorter distances. When the power bar is full, it's identical to left clicking.

Press left, wait until he takes pin out then sprint+jump, thats as far as it goes.

Thanks for all the replies. I don't think I've ever seen a power meter show up when I've hit the left button - I wonder what I'm doing wrong?

The power meter does not appear when you left click, only when you right click so you're not doing anything wrong :)
Its a full power throw, but without the jump they dont go very far at all.
