How do u judge distance with sniper scope?

I was wondering what do those numbers represend on the sniper scope? the little hash marks are for you to raise the gun up to account for bullet arching?

i see 8 and then 6...does that mean 600 feet or 600 yards?

Is this just something i learn from experience, i find my self at long distance having a tough job getting headshots, i can wound them but not kill them

I do not think the game calculates the bullet drop but I also got problems with killing people on large distances. Like with the M95 it loses the possibilty to shoot trough protective glass on large distances. getting closer is the idea.

There is bullet drop on this game. so aim a little above head.

The marks are really not that helpful, its just a matter of trying until you find the kind of elevation you need to kill someone. As Silver_19 says there is bullet drop so at longer ranges do aim a bit above your target or you wont be able to hit them at all.

sniping is all about "getting the feel for it", once you do , you kill anyone you see.

If the sniper rifles in the game were accurate then you would have to take into account the distance to the target, wind speed/direction, wind seed/direction at the target, air pressure and a number of other things, you would then have to adjust your scope accordingly.

the numbers on the scope dont mean much, there just there to look good, I do use then to help when leading targets that are moveing though.

Get to know distances by: looking at flags or being a squad ldr and assigning a task in that area, it'll always show u distance.... 300m+ ranges is perhaps 3mm above thier shoulder blades for me.

I find that if the sniper rifle could finally give us the ability to shoot bunnies, we wouldn't be having this discussion. The bunnies wouldn't care how far away the target is, once it got there it would take off your head.

I believe that those numbers do not represent anything. I always shoot at the crosshair. My accuracy is 50 % with the sniper rifles. And the M95 just sucks ass. It's as accurate as a shotgun at longer ranges.
