trying to help a friend fix BF2 (thrown off servers online)

Hi im hoping that we might get some help here, ive searched the forums and have found some good advise, but we are still having a frustrating problem. When he plays the game in single player the game runs great. When he plays online he just get thrown off servers.

We are both in a clan that has just started to include BF2, you can imagine how frustrating it must be for him as he is constantly trying to join are own ranked server.

    We have tried the following;
    1, Turned off firewalls.
2, Reinstalled the game and the patch.
3, Deleted all BF2 content before reinstalling.
4, Punkbuster was manually updated on first install.
5, Punkbuster was left alone on second install.

    His PC spec's are,

    Processor AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 2416MHz
Display Card NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX
    Memory 2048MB
    Operating System Microsoft Windows XP
    Free Disk Space 148.59GB
    Display Card Memory 256MB
    Display Driver Version 7.8.0.1
    DirectX Version 9.0c
    Optical Drive CD/DVD
Sound Card SB Audigy 2 Audio [8000]

Thanks for any help you can give us.

Its due to the dual core cpu.

You need to do 3 things:
    1. Update nvidia drivers to 81.98.

    2. Install the X2 proccessor driver.

    3. Install the Microsoft hotfix for dual core cpus and gaming.
Not available to download at MS, you have to phone support to get it. (or look on the interweb and you might just find it!)
