WHY IS IT that throughout the entire game people would just be saying non stop, enemy unit spotted, enemy armor spotted, enemy helicopter spoted, enemy tank is inbound, etc... Does this do anything? Who do people bother, doesnt it distract you from the game. Do you get some kind of points for it?

Re: enemey unit spotted
Well you get no "material" satisfaction but it happens cuz people think that other players care. :)
And it sometimes is useful to see blinking red objects on the map, has saved my life couple of times. -

Re: enemey unit spotted
I constantly spot vehicles, planes, infantry, or whatever I see when flying and operating closely with a squad or in a helicopter so that the others are simply aware.Comment

Re: enemey unit spotted
It's called Teamwork, not a concept everyone on BF2 is familiar with. It lets your team-mates know of a potential danger and can help save lives and/or CP’s. I have been saved by a team-mate spotting an enemy tank, heli, sniper, etc. many times, because I now know where they are and can weigh up my options to ever attempt an ambush or retreat due to insufficient firepower.
I have also spotted plenty of armoured vehicles that are then bombed by astute pilots or those menacing snipers that are then taken care of by a team-mate closer by.
In my opinion the advantages of spotting enemy movement far outweighs the alternative.Comment

The amount of times I've died cos people DIDN'T SPOT things in.
People need to sort that $hit out.
Once is all thats needed. [And not a question mark]Comment

Re: enemey unit spotted
Spotting can help your friends and YOU TOO. U can be sure that if me and my friend are flying an attack chopper for the same team you're playing in we will come and take care of it for you. All it takes is one TVG from across the map and you're clear to go on safely.
If ppl are starting this kind of posts, it must be that some players have yet to discover the importance of the minimap. For me the minimap is mor eimportant than the rearview mirror of a car (no. i have never crashed my car

Re: enemey unit spotted
Man I LOVE it when people spot things...I only wish the audio could be removed
So yes, when people do it, they are doing it solely out of the spirit of teamwork. There is no direct benefit to them for doing so.
So keeping spotting those targets for me and spotting those guys who are trying to sneak up on me!Comment

Re: enemey unit spotted
Let's say you are flying in an attack chopper. You see an enemy chopper, and then he starts dodging and hiding, and suddenly he pops up and BAM, you are dead.
If you spot him b4 he starts turning in circles around you, then you will know exactly where he went, and can chase after him.Comment

Re: enemey unit spotted
When I am a sniper, this is a critical task. As a sniper you can not do anything to armor vehicels or helicopters until they get out. Every time I use the spotted function for the game, along comes either an anti-tank guy or air attack on the object. That is team work and I find it real cool, because the enemy think they got a free flag.Comment

Re: enemey unit spotted
when im commander , i constantly spot and target enemys (not everyone of course, but those who are at places i know nobody sees them , eg back of my troops , on the way to a flag etc.) you find it annoying ? turn of sound or i dunno. Usually people grats me , cause im doing sucha great job as commander, spotting all the enemies and tell squads to attack/defend those locations ...Comment
