Sony Vegas save question

Alright,

Well I finished my first movie with Sony Vegas and when I first got the program I messed around with some of the save formats. And under file > Render as the template is set for NTSC DV is that correct? When it's done on that setting all I see is a black screen with some music. Am I missing somthing.

I've never tried that codec, I usually use Video 9.

Well I see video now thanks! But I only see random parts of song and video can I fix that?

Ntsc will default to uncompressed. Pick your compression / Say dixX / Pixal aspect ratio 1.0000 / Field order None ( ) / frame rate - NTSC 29 runs ok for me / Frame size 640 x 480 or higher / Audio PCM uncommpressed is best, other than that MPEG Layer 3 is 2nd.

I would use WMV 9, same settings, PLUS you can write an index file. I use 128kbps audio quality to be safe, because some audio source files may be over 800kbps in quality which goes to waste in file size.

I'm not sure how to set that up. When I go to render I have it set up as WMV 9 and default template. But when I click save it stays at 100% for a really long time.

When you click save it will take a 1 minute video about 15+ minutes to render. When it says 100% it means it's done.

Awsome video. When I try it, it will get to 100% and still say rendering I let it sit for over 3 hrs and the video is only 1 minute 45 secounds. Here is what I see

Hey I know now what your problem is, it's not a problem. Your done.
See I don't put a check in the 'Close dialogue box" so when it is done the open button shows and I watch it. I just realized the below it still says 100% but it is done.

Thats what I thought to but it goes from like 1-100% in maybe 10 seoucnds then stays at 100 and if at anytime after 100 I click open or close and try to play it it's just fragmented parts of my video.

Yeah something isn't right, it should take well over 15 minutes to render. What type of codec are the original videos in? It looks like fraps avi, so it should work.

Uncheck 'render loop region' mine is unchecked.
