Using HAT Switch on Joystick for Commo Rose....

Does anyone know how to configurate the HAT/POV Switch on the Joystick to be able to use the Commo Rose?
I mean, I don't mind flying around with my joystick and then have to switch to the mouse to use the Commo Rose, but it's a pain in the arse sometimes.

It would be handy to have anything on my joystick I need

Use JoytoKey, bind a button on your stick for the "rose", bind the trigger to the left mouse button, and bind the POV switch to your mouse movements. I use JoytoKey for the hatswitch mouselook and commrose spotting while in a jet/helo and it works out great.

How do you bind the POV to the mouse movement?!?

On the right side of the app window you can see a preference tab.. click it.. then click the "Use POV switches" box. Then you can go back and assign a function to the POV switch. I run 2 instances of the program to get this effect mind you. One instance binds all POV 1 switches to mouselook ( L ctrl ), and the other to bind POV1 to the mouse, as well as the binds for the commrose.

JoyToKey has changed my game considerably. I am fairly confident to fly a jet now, knowing I can use the commo rose without fumbling with the keyboard, and mouseview with joystick HAT helps aswell!!

The commo rose is the radial menu that comes up when you hold down the Q key.

When you have both of your hands on the joystick, there is no way to configure a way to use the commo rose through the bf2 control config screen.

JoyToKey can do it though.

Hi Guys, I'm new to BF2 and I'd also like to be able to bind the mouselook to the hat switch. Having said that I don't understand this JoyToKey procedure. Is this a system file I have to edit or is it a utility/application that I need to download and configure? Any help you could give would be much appreciated. Many thanks :)

You have to download the JoyToKey utility.

I have also provided a file containing a JoyToKey.ini file as well as 2 config files that, if each loaded via 2 concurrent joytokey instances, give mouselook and commo rose functionality to a joystick's POV hat:

If you install JoyToKey to c:\Program Files\JoyToKey and then copy my files into that directory, simply use the .bat file I provided and you'll have what you're looking for all in one click.

One of these days I'll get an e-mail back from the author for permission and I'll write up a little BF2 readme and release it as a package.
