I've finally gotten it to work. I had given up and went back to my onboard sound, but along the way I started having problems with that as well (much worse than the XFI). When I got tired of screwing around with onboard sound, I put the XFI back in, loaded the updated drivers, without the flashy control panel, and everything works great now. It sounds awesome, and I'm hearing things I'd never heard in the game before.
