EVGA 7800GT 470/1100 Artifacts

AMD opty 165 (dual core) stock 1.8ghz
EVGA 7800GT at stock 470/1100

I noticed last night that I am getting Artifacts on BF2... minimal but enough to notice...

could there be an issue with the gfx card...

All installed and less then 4 days old...

First stock benchmark...

Aqua = 73350
3DMark05 = 7380

now 3dmark05 is scoring a WEAK 5300..

Nvidia driver 81.98, bios is up to date also...

huh, i am starting to have the same problem, and the card isnt hot either, maybe we got a bad batch...

and if I try to OC it like 480/1115
it locks up Aqua and 3D05

check your power connections and try a different driver.

it's more than just a power supply..

I know ALOT of people with brand new 7800gt/gtx 6800gt/ultra's all new with Antec or better PS, all with atries or tearing.. My Ultra which is about 2 months old is starting to do the same thing...

try a few 3rd party drivers, ive got a 7800GT & have had good luck with mine (sorry i cant tell you exactly which ones from memory, but im sure there are updates now anyway, just look around at tweaked nvidia drivers)

I had something similar, but I have a 6600GT.

I think it was because I set my DDR timings a little too aggressive and it slowly corrupted my machine. At some point I could not even install/remove drivers, so I reformatted, updated to SP2 and put my memory timings, back to normal. It's been running fine ever since.

Just a thought.

I have a eVGA 7800GT also and up until I plugged in my extra power cord to it with both power inlet plugs plugged in I was not able to get max settings. Now with all of the power going to it I am able to run max BF2 settings with stock video, ram and cpu settings.
AMD 4400 x2
2gigs Corsair Pro Ram
500w psu
Aspire Alien case w/8 fans (runs way cool), could probably over clock everything but don't need to yet.
This was my first ever build and am now totally happy with it.

Ya it does have a single power input to it but it has two plug ins to it. I know its weird but I had to plug both of them in for max power.
