4X AGP on ATI Radeon Cards

anyone tried to turn the AGP speed down to 4X to get rid of the crashes? does it really work? how much of performance will be lost if its on 4X?

how can you tell exactly what speed your card is? I think mine may have 8x but my mobo doesn't support it. I have a 9800 pro with 256 mb

u mean the performance? then does it really resolve the issue of crash? or at least, does it make the situation better?

there's alot of ways to tell what speed ur AGP is at. u can find the info in my driver application, ie Catalyst (for ATI) or ForceWare (for nVidia). or you can use some programs like sandra to find out ur system info.

Ive heard puting the AGP from 8x to 4x ... Suposidly it works for crashes... I myself need to find out how to do that... Because my game will crash at start up...but it only crashes after I install a new patch.... Im supposed to be at war with others online... Im not supposed to be at war with my pc :p

lol... that's true. im at the war with my pc too.

btw about how to change ur agp speed, u should be able to access the option in ur video card driver application.
