Special forces wasn't worth $25. I'm going to wait for reviews before I buy.

From what I have read, I am not going to buy the SF expansion, but I am going to purchase the Booster packs. It's a low price for some new wepons and army. I am in and hope to see you all there.

          er.. what?

Patches which fix bugs and make the game run as orginially intended should always be free... Additional content is up to the developer/publisher. It is essentially work he is not being paided for and I don;t know about you but I am not big on not getting paid. Often free extra content either missed the initial release, is a marketing exercise and/or is a demostration of the developers love for his/her work...

I for one am happy to pay for valid new content for a game I enjoy as long as it is as throughly tested and of the same quality as the original game. Especially if it is cheap.

Which tells us a few things about both EA's promises toward supporting the modding community as well as how impatient and how little will power the BF2 community has. Mods will be out probably within a month, yet people still hype over lesser things that cost money, it just doesn't make sense.

Yes, "er.. what?" is correct. Why do they now "love the game" and are supposedly extremely passionate as we're told, yet we see less support, long patch times, and content which has been free in past titles now costing money.

Considering the amount of people who bought BF2 vanilla, plus the insanely priced ranked servers, that should be plenty enough to get EA their money to both stick in their pockets and pay the developers to patch the game and release extra content to the community since they're so "passionate" about the game. It worked just fine in previous titles, you don't see them bankrupt or even in financial trouble over it, but they decide to charge people for every little thing they can in any way they can. I don't buy the "omg they need to pay them somehow" stance at all, as they're already rolling in cash from the vanilla release and server rentals.

Yah, definitely going to buy Euro Force. I think I'm just going to buy Armored Fury for the heck of it, but I'm not really an armor person (despite of my name )

...... i'm talking about the booster packs, not the patches....

and yes extra content has allways been for free in BF, and now its not. because ppl keep saying they dont mind paying for stuff wich they had for free all the time....

at least we will have the mods, screw the ranks... the mods i see around are all good enough to make me not care about ranks.

yeah iwill shell out 20 bucks for both of them.. what can i say i got 20 bucks to spare.. quit being cheap commie bastards and just pay up. EA is getting patches out (but slowly) so who cares. ITs a business not a give it away free crapfest.

But if they wanted to chuck in a new map as a teaser that would be cool too :)

Re: Would you buy Euro Force??

Yeh, I'll buy it. I'm English, will be glad to play as a Euro guy for a change. Only just more than the cost of a packet of cigs. Of course there are problems with the game, but they are trying to fix them with the patches, but what the hell, even with the problems I've had loads of fun from the game. The cost of the original game is less than a night out. £6 for 3 new maps and new weapons sounds fine to me. Why should they be free? Do you go and do a days work, screw up and then offer to work for free until you've payed off your mistake? As far as I can tell this is a game, so I take it as such, try my best, get my ass kicked but still enjoy and come back for more.

Yeah, I'm gonna get them both no matter what. Theres not any decent COMPLETED mods out yet, and I like the ranking system, so I'm gonna hack up the $20.

As for me, I pay for my own groceries and will pay for booster packs (being the capitalist pig that I am).
