    Inconsistent vehicle badge time requirements

Am I the only person here who finds the time requirements for differing vehicle badge levels inconsistent and excessive ?

Since they all require approximately the same logged hours, let's use the helicopter badge as an example: ignoring the kill requirements, one needs to spend 10 minutes in the vehicle to receive the Basic badge. Should you wish to have the Veteran badge, that will cost you 100 hours. Expert ? 400 hours. My question: how does this make any ****ing sense ?

I find the requirements excessive and inconsistent: it would make much more sense to have something like

    5 hours + x kills for Basic
    20 hours + y kills for Veteran
    80 hours + z kills for Expert

As it stands, anyone wishing to get more than one of these "Veteran" badges has to spend an incredible amount of time simply to do so. By lowering the requirements to the abovementioned recommendation or something similar, you are in fact encouraging people to seek them: I for one will NOT be actively attempting to get any expert level badge simply because of the excessive time demands.

Dice, this is something else you could do for us. Consider it...

x,y,z would have to be far higher than they for any other vehicle (except jet)

... and I completely agree. As it stands, it's a JOKE for any competent pilot/gunner to get even the Expert kill requirement in 75% of the rounds they play. Essentially, DICE got it backwards: lower the time needed to get the badge and increase the amount of kills required.

      Simple enough ? :)

I find the time requirements also high, but this is just the way it is ,
also the game is actualy only about 7-8 months out , if you think about it , BF1942 has been there for about 3 years and has been played for about three years , so you can't actualy have everything directly, this way the players who play the game for years they get more then the guys who play it for a few months .

Also, be glad they lowered the time requirements of everything with the previous patch , then it was a whole other story (time requirements of 1000-4000 h where no exeption)

If it takes you 400 hours to develop the skill required for Expert recognition, I pity you: in reality, most of the naturals or excellent pilots reach a certain performance plateau after only a dozen hours, so I fail to see how 100-400 hours makes any sense.

Yeah well, the AA doesn't work and the noob tube is a nuissance, but that is just the way it is... right ? That's not well reasoned.

                        Expert tank 20 kills.
                        Expert combat 40 kills.
                        Expert C4 37 kills

                        Very silly.
Are your ment to have trouble getting the 20 kills in the tank after 400 hours??

But the timerequirements will not directly effect the ingameplay

Agreed, they are inconsistent. The Heli medal for example, is 250 hours 20,000 kills, the tank is 250 hours 10,000 kills. Why twice as many kills but same hour requirement? The 400 hours for the gold vehicle badges are way too high. There simply isn't enough vehicles to go around every round of BF2 to be able to get those hours. Even if you play this game for 3 years (which I doubt most people would still play vanilla BF2 and ignore mods after that long) it's still tough for even the ABOVE average gamer to get those awards.

But if you look at the leaderboards, there are lots of guys having vehicle medals (chopper, tank, ....) and as I said the game is only out for 7-8 months
