Gayass... Good one. As for my life I have one.. I work 40+ hours a week, go to school 12+ hours a week at nights, have a loving wife, and a baby on the way... Sounds like I have a life...

I take pictures of my computer because people are interested in watercooling, and I ofter have people asking me about my setup.

Just because you don't know **** about computers doesn't mean you have to be angry at the people who do...

Maybe true, but it not a bad assumption to make that during the development cycle of bf2 the 6800 was the test card. So you can say it was made for the 6800. It does not mean it runs best on 6800, it means the 6800 should be good enough if you assume that's what they tested it with.

But you didn't want to consider that explanation, did you ...

You think the only tested it with 1 card?

No, I'm sure they've tested it with all kinds of cards both ATI and NVidia and a large range of memory configs, etc.

But the 6800 was probably the best nvidia card when they were doing the development cycle. Assuming that is true than the 6800 should be able to handle everything fine (to be honest I din't check when the 7800 became widely available).

Anyway, I think this thread has served it's purpose and we're getting OT.

Yes, it was tested with the 6800, among others. But the point is (or was rather) that there is no reason (other than cost whcih wasn't mentioned until afterwards) to choose the 6800 over a 7800 series. People having problems with the 7800 series is just because of misconfiguration, and has nothing to do with the card.

um, jimmy is right, the 7800series would be a good choice for a next GPU. Plus, if u could afford a X850XT, then chances are, if teh 7800GT was out then at the prices they are now (less than 300 bucks), then u could afford one. And no, i'm not defending the 7800GT cause i have one, i have a X800XL, look in sig.

I'm a noob on this subject so please help me out without info on benchmarks and so. I just want a simple answer i can understand.

I run a pentium 4 3Ghz with 1,5 Gig ram. My current graphic card is a Radeon 9600xt-4 256Mb.

I'm just wondering. Will a better graphic card really improve my gaming experience. It's fine as it is but i have no clue what to expect from a better card.

A bit off topic, my wife works with pinnacle a lot and maybe a better card will also improve the performence of that program.

send me your new grapics cards and i'll try them out for you. :-)

i do have a question though: wouldnt you guys rather play BF2 on your super rigs than be on a forum all day? whats the point of having a super computer if you are on a forum that any celeron could run as well?

i just come here to fix my BF2 problems, but as you guys have none i would just play BF2 if I were you.
