EA-Games wants us to pay for everything!

It started with Battlefield 2, which is normal “It’s a complete game”, then came a MOD. Battlefield 2 costs $44,95 (according to Amazon.com)

1st of all let me explain what a MOD is,

* a mod is a Partial conversion of a game.
* you need to buy the original game to make use of the mod.
* mod’s are mostly free because u have to buy the game.
(although mod-makers can ask for a fee to support them)

There are a lot of good mod’s for Battlefield 2 coming out these days, all free work. But HARD work, hard work due to the community.

And what does the community ask for it, u get it NOTHING. They just want respect from the gaming community.

Well I say they get our respect.

And then comes EA-games, trying to profit from everything they get there hands on.

So they bring out Battlefield 2 :Special Forces which costs $29,99.

(have to admit it’s worth the buy, but it’s STILL a mod)

And now they want to bring out 2 new Boosterpacks $9.99 each.

(my wallet has run off underneath my bed, screaming this is 2 much)

And that’s a lot of money WE pay EA.
(Not all to EA but also to developers)

I'm sure it's been posted already (or at least something like this).

Also I'm sure that even if you got 100,000 to sign up it wouldn't make any difference.

And over 50% of the members here are going to buy the first pack at least so maybe not the best place to look for support?

I can see EA now "OH KNOES A PETITION WE BETTER MAKE THE BOOSTER PACKS FREE", i mean seriously like this is going to make a difference. The author obviously spent alot of times doing the maths on the total cost of the game/expansion/boosters.

Not to mention at the end he says WE pay EA, someone needs to let him know that you don't have to buy the expansion and boosters.

buy it if you want it, it takes time and money to make videogames, and this is not a "fix", its extra content and you should have to pay for it. Pony up the 10 bux for it and stop complaining if you dont want it.

i payed $90 AUSD for the game and bf2SF costs $50 AUSD and booster packs cost $30 AUSD
well all that together adds up
if i bought all of that. it would be $200 in total. ffs **** u ea!!

everything costs more here.
like the 7800GTX 256mb costs 750-900 here in australia in every store.

the AMD Athlon64 FX-60 Retail Box 939 Pin $1700 AUSD is 1,272.47 USD but how much does it cost in USA???

Sadly, that's true. You buy booster packs, you're just padding their wallet. Also what's sad, is the Battlefield community doesn't have the willpower to stand up for what they deserve, and they continue to let EA walk all over them. There's even things called mods, of which most people here know of, and know they'll be better, have more updates and support for their content, yet they still insist on supporting the actions EA is taking to capitalize on EVERY aspect of your game.

I somehow doubt most people saying "OMG just git boostr pax!" even played BF1942, when the community got this sort of stuff for free. (assuming the word free is still in people's vocabulary these days)

If you are going to start a formal thread like this, I recommend spelling out all your words.
When I read this, the moment I started seeing 'u' and '2' and other nonsense, I just stopped reading.

Its not bad that your trying to start a revolution here.....just do it with maturity. Just because its the internet, and this is a gamers site, doesnt mean that the people here arent educated or all under the age of 16.

5000 for the game, 3000 for the exp. pack, now 2000 more for the boosters!

That adds up to 10000, which is 163 bucks!

EA are just preying on your weaknesses and making millions of pounds to!

They still haven’t sorted out the vanilla BF2 yet, so I think they should give at least one booster pack free charge just to say thank you for your patience while we sort the bugs out in BF2.
