Morons the lot of them. This takes the definition of raping an uncappable base (Which I think is fine) horrible. Not allowing for people to spawn and defend the area is by all means illegal. Hope this doesn't get exploited like the noob tube did =/.

Very interesting. Too bad many other morons will read this and also use this "tactic".
It would have been cool to mine the Vodniks and let those jerks blow themselves up.

I had the same thing happen to me on that map.

Its 3 Vodniks that are used. Two from the spawn point and one they bring themselves. I did try it myself but it didnt work... I dont know all the spawn points. A very smart and crafty move.

You also will see this when teammates go afk and still spawn in.

There are limited spawns per flag - and the numbers are small - like less than 5. It is a very handy piece of information to have when you go in to cap a flag.

If you can split your squad and have a couple of them grab a spawn or 2, then you force the enemy to be choked into 1 or 2 more...which means one guy can defend against them as they spawn - while the last team member goes in for the uncontested cap. Once you get it neutral, the rest of the team rolls in for the quick cap and you get out of there before the enemy can get back in there.

It is not the fastest tactic - but if you are on a armor heavy map, and you do not want the people to get into a vehicle and own you as infantry - be sneaky. Keeps your enemy at limited resources while you take that base away from them.

You can also do this by yourself - if you drive a buggy up to get a flag - you cover the closest spawn to you with it, and go in for the cap. Then you are making the other team spawn a little farther out - and most of the time in doing so - they don't pay attention to the fact the flag is dropping and they quickly move out of the base.

I am not saying I do this alot - but it is unfortunately a valid tactic that has been built into this game.

I would love to have seen them put in random spawns - or make it at least like 15-20 different pts, instead of less than a handful.

This is something that is done in clan matches. When you get to a point, to capture it you put one person in each spawn point so no enemies can spawn while you are capturing it.

... and this, my friends, is why we need real randomized spawn locations: none of this pre-determined crap. FFS, shouldn't this be a possibility by now ? :P

Its not a valid tactic at all, its only a matter of time before this gets officially classed as an "exploit", and hopefully fixed in the next patch. How can you asume that dice ment it to be this way? Not allowing players to spawn at a flag that THEY own is just.. Its an exploit, dont try to justify it.

                  Re: Grinds my gears...

There are definitely only 3-4 spawn points per spawn. My squadmates and I usually make a point to cover (not block, but guard) each spawn point while we take a flag.

For example, the Hotel flag in Karkand has 3 - one under the archway across the street from the flag, one in the alley next to the archway, and one north of the flag behind the wooden fence.

I consider covering them a legitimate tactic for suppressing the enemy's ability to disrupt a flag capture, but I also think that blocking them is just an excuse for bad players to get decent scores.

Sorry I didn't answer your questions, I had gone to sleep.

As Colinloves said, it took three Vodniks to block up the spawn. And as for the self destruct, imagine the horror if they brought an engineer.

If we had more parachuting spawn points, like in Warlord, wouldn't that help solve the problem? You can't block spawn points in the air can you?

No, but you can get punished for opening your parachute and "teamkilling" the person above you. :p

Team dA does the same exact thing. Same map and all. Steal the Mi-28 usually from the gunner from the cobra parachutes out at the beginning of the game. I've seen them also park the vodniks on non-capturable spawns on Sharqi. LAME exploit

About the vehicles blowing up, they have to move them out of the spawn area before they will blow up. Simply moving one a few feet will not make it blow up so the only vodnick that would explode is the one they brought in from another flag.

Anyone aware of the time it takes for it to blow once its outside of the given range?
