My personal thoughts about booster packs...

Although I don't agree with EA on selling extra content for $10, I don't know if I would do that if I were in its' shoes. But I personally would follow EA to hell and back, I think shelling out $10 for extra content is worth it, the Battlefield games have provided me with more experience I may ever get from any game, and that alone is worth my money.
I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but I owe it to EA for all the times it's given me. If they keep popping out booster packs with like 10 maps a year that would keep the game fresh, the only thing I don't like is they will only be online, that I don't get. But it will be cool in 6 months to see all the bf2 gear you need in like a $100 package. I hope this succedes, because I love new content.

I agree as people forget that you have to pay programmers to develop these games, so if you can't pay, then don't play!

      I also agree.

We paid $50 for a game that has supplied some of us with HUNDREDS of hours of game play.

I would continue to pay for more content as it is developed and distributed to us by hard working game makers.

Just so long as the Xpacks dont become bland. $10 worth of additions should remain consistant. If EA continues to keep good stuff coming all will be good.

I just hope they dont try to pass of weak packs that arent worth the 10 bucks. Like: all new jet and helo skins!!!! Booster Pack $10.00!!!

Exactly, but if they do deliver on these next two and continue to do so in the future, I'm all for it. This game has given me at least 3X the fun that all other games I have paid $50 or $60 for, and I'm still not tired of it. I'm really excited about these new booster packs, and I'm not all too furious about paying less than I do for a 12 pack of beer.

Truth is, this is my best gaming experience ever...and for only 50€...for god sake...that's the cheapest...go on and try to buy any other game for the PS or the 360...or even some to the PC...yahycks....where I live, it's all like 75/80€ and goi'n up....anyway, I would buy it for any price...

The boosts...oh well!!! if they give us new maps for about what, 8 in 8 months, for me it's just fine....10€??? Scr*w them, I will pay.....

a booster pack is fine. What I hate is the special forces pack. It alienated the people which didn't want it because they had to buy it to stay competitive. It is a weak concept, but I would sell these packs and let the servers which want to add the stuff from the packs and the ones that don't leave it alone. They should have never allowed special forces weapons into original BF2 servers.

The hell with those booster packs...yeah I want new content, but not their...Well known fact is that there are so many great mappers,moders...etc,in two words CREATIVE GUYS,who created lot of great maps. But because EA policy we can't have those maps on ranked servers.Unfourtenately so far I found only one server (unranked, naturaly) that runed some of custom made maps.Since I live in Europe and the server is located God knows where,I had terrible ping....
Anyway remeber BF1942 and custom maps. Some of those maps were better than any "default" map.Maybe EA appart their money thirst is actualy scared...maybe they don't wonna world to see how limited their creativity is

I don't care if they gave everyone the guns in the vanilla game, but what I don't like is that if you did n't buy SF then you have to suffer the consequences on the VANILLA boards. THat is BS. SF weapons should on;y be on SF boards and so on.

Overkill that is not true about EA. They are very creative when it comes to making games for children or should I say teenagers and I would never take that away from them. But when it comes to pleasing an adult they just can't handle it or don't want too.

Simple thought for me is, Ever hear of Evercrack or World of Warcraft...there pay to play. Xboxlive, pay to play online...I'd rather get a bit more out of the game by paying 10 bucks everty couple months and have free servers, then have to pay every month with no new content

Wow you should think before you speak Angelus. BF2 maybe free to you but it is not to most which rent the servers you play on and at a hefty price I might add.

That is there choice to rent servers... is there or is there not servers that are run by EA? Quite a bit of them I might add. And I'm glad most of you guys agree about them, if shelling out $30 or so a year keeps a game fresh, I'm all for it.

Keep in mind the price of ranked servers. The server companies pay to be "prefered ranked providers" and there isa lot of money to be made there to. $8/slot is not cheap, that is the highest price for any server I can think of in the last 5 years or so. When Source was fresh and new the price was $6/slot for a few months.
The programmers and developers are not starving that is for sure, they get paid very well for their work. Except for this incident:

Like EA says, they are dedicated to providing continuous support and content, and this is a reassuring thing to read. Many people can argue this point in either direction though. Some feel that the game was pushed out without really being done. If you compare the game from the original disc you bought in store with no patches to the game will the latest patches applied, you can see an enormous difference. There are tons of bugs in the original disc that have been covered over by patches and some that are still not being addressed.
Would it have been a good idea to spend more time on the game and release a less buggy game? Yes, of course. But it did not turn out way for some reason. It is a fun game and I too have accumulated some hours in game. I got my money's worth, but there are issues that are not being dealt with unless there is a dollar sign at the end of it. This is what makes me mad.
