The stats are actualy the ones who save the good conduct

I have stated this once in some topic, but will do it again,

Actualy the stats have a good influence on the game,

you may say , many padding going on and so on.... but the padding is good for us , like some are revive padders, well, I love one on my side in the game, I get shot, I get revived.

also the stats make people less TK'ing, because they don't want the negative scores.

And the stats makes people playing other classes, they have for example the expert badge in some class and want another expert badge playing another class, this way we do see some classes around wich would be less otherwise (suport, engineer) .

This is just my opinion about it, there is many complaining about the stats and what they bring, but what they bring (padders) isn't always bad , this because to pad you need to gain points, and to gain points you need to do something for your team (kill, revive, resuplie, repair, cape flags, ...) siple as that

I became a better player by going after badges and medals I didn't have. It made me well rounded.

Good call. I personally have no problem in helping people in getting their heal/support points if I need to be fixed up or am low on ammo. I appreciate having a litter of health and ammo packs in the middle of a fight - it has saved me many times.

I haven't noticed any more or less Tking or otherwise "poor conduct" in this game vs BF1942 or any other online FPS I've played.

Well, excpet maybe for CS, but that's because smacktards are drawn to that game like moths to bright lights.

I agree that the badges are great for people that would like to collect them, but I am not at all bothered with my rank but like to get new unlocks. I now have to run around with flashbangs and my knife out to try to get enough knife kills for my next unlock, also I need my pistol one too and having tried to kill people with one last night I think this is going to take me some time!! I would rather be playing as part of a squad than having to find people to stab!:hmm:

Also I would not mind having to get a AA badge if they actually worked! (bring on the patch!)

I think you haven't played BF1942 much then, in BF1942 there was a 90% chace you got TK's for a plane or tank when you where running towards it, in BF2 this is only 35% .

in CS you get TK'd when some guy just doesn't like you

But when you look at another game with a kind of stats , americas army, you will notice you don't get TK'd on purpose a lot, almost none actualy , this because you the freaking roe

I feel the same way, if there were no stats I would have thousands of tks by now =)

I guess it depends on the servers you play on. I played BF1942 for more than a couple of years and while there were plenty of intentional TKs, I haven't found it any more or less so the case in BF2.
