BF2 Battle Recorder... View the Demo!

I am trying to view the BF2DEMO files that generate when playing a round on my server and then the file appears.

With what can I view the demo?!

I've tryed the part where you have to download the demo.cmd and try and launch it from the command prompt... which then tells me that the demo file doesnt exist and which is clearly there.... and yes I made sure its the right path and even copied the demo file all over my BF2 installation and still nothing.

I've tryed launching the BF2DEMO file by right clicking it then clicking open with and launchin it with BF2.exe ... sill no luck, I get an error indicating that the staticmesh.fx file could not be found in the mods\bf2\shaders\staticmesh.fx
Ok so I look in my shaders folder and nothing is there, I look in the bf2 folder and there is a file called Shaders_client.zip, so I open it up and there are all the files... including staticmesh.fx
So I extract all the files in the shaders folder including staticmesh.fx and try to launch the BF2DEMO file with BF2.exe again... but I get the same error saying that it could not find the staticmesh.fx file in the shaders folder.... and clearly the staticmesh.fx file is now there...

We are a group of 15 people trying to figure it out and were all stuck at this point.

    Thank you

It is the most poorly documented apect to BF2. What IS documented isn't always accurate. I don't know your answer, I figured it out when the game came out but haven't messed with it since then. Someone in here will know though. I just had to chime and say that I feel your pain. EA did a ****-poor job of writing instructions for the recorder.

Here is the "guide" i used. I have never ran a server. Nor have I ever done anything with Battle Recorder beyond watching the files that actually downloaded sucsessfully. Today I started a single player game as well as created a local server and was able to record and view both with battle recorder! Now thats a handy guide if u ask me!! Good Luck!! "Happy Frapsing"
