Does it really take this long to patch v1.12?

It's been patching for over an hour now.

Is this normal? Or should I restart installing the patch?

Did you click it twice? You might be doing 2 at a time. Otherwise I dunno. Takes me like 5-10 mins to install + patch.

Yea, I find it annoying they didn't include a percentage done bar.

It just stays there "patching" until its finished. Indeed, it took quite awhile, but nowhere even remotely close to an hour.

Yeah i would reboot if you cant stop it and than just do it again.

Just be careful. It looks like Im going to have to uninstall my BF2, and reinstall it, b/c it looks like that the 1.12 patch screwed up the program. I cant get it to load at all. It boots up the logo image, and then dumps back to the desktop.

I didnt have to reinstall bf2 but it took me several try before the patch completed without crash/reboot. And whwn it didnt freeze, it probably took like 45 min to patch up so i suggest you start the patch and roll up and smoke one during that time. :)
