need help!!! plz...:(

anywayz i basically made this account jus for this problem eventho i do read the articles etc coz this site is pretty good. Recently my game as been laggin as in the pc and not the connection. So i decided to do things like maintenance such as repairing faulty sectors defragmentin spyware etc.
Then all of a sudden when i click join game tab on muitiplayer it just shuts down back onto desktop. I already no some1 has had a similar problem but mine is more extensive. I decided to try to reinstall but when i tried that also shut down to desktop then i tried gettin rid of it thru recycle bin and a friend told me now that i might have to format my whole hardrive!! plz help!!! (btw in case u have noticed im not very good with computers lol)

ok btw they r crap lol technically bf2 shouldnt even work on my pc lol
Pentium 4 3.2ghz
512mb RAM
geforce fx5500 256mb(i no bf2 doesnt even support this but it still runs mysteriously)
err wat else should i put down or is this enough?

first try doing a fresh reinstall of bf2...i think when u were cleaning up and doing maintainence work, it miteve moved some of bf2's files around..but do u get an error that pops up when u do this?

and if that works...to make it less laggy than usual, u can try a bunch of stuff like clearing the shader optimzation folder and renaming bf2

problem is i cant reinstall as soon as i autorun the disc, i click on install it starts up installsheild wizard and then shuts down back to desktop

How can I uninstall my game? I have tried add/remove programs, yet it still remains.
Answer:
The most common cause of this problem is the Windows registry still containing information about your game. The game itself may be deleted from your system, but Windows thinks its still installed, as the registry has not been cleaned up properly. To remove the program or re-install it you will need to manually clean up the registry. To do this, click on START, then RUN, and type REGEDIT and press Enter.

The Registry Editor will appear on your screen. Be very careful to follow these instructions exactly. Do not modify any other item in the registry as you may cause harm to the correct operation of Windows.

Navigate to the following folder:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall

Be sure to double click on the "Uninstall" folder so that the contents of this folder are displyed.

Look down this list and you should find a folder for the game you're having trouble with. Simply right click on this folder, and choose delete. Note - do not delete the whole Uninstall folder under any circumstances.

Now, exit the Registry Editor, and you should then be able to re-install the game if you wish.

You cant just uninstall game. You MUST remove any registry remains of BF2 (check forum you will find out what you need to remove or there is a tool from EA tha removes them automatically, search for it too). Also you need to delete the folder BF2 that is created to /My Documents/, before re-installing game. I got FX5600 and game plays fine in low settings (with antialiasing and anisotropic off).
