Been covered before, but....
bunnyhopping is jumping continuosly while in a firefight
dolphon diving is jumping and immediately hitting the prone key so you go prone in the air. This is particualy annoying when you repeat it over and over because it makes you very hard to hit.Comment

Well bunny hopping is not being stopped...
Bit of history, true bunnyhopping comes from Quake where player found that they could move across the map much faster with well timed jumps and was as such a "skill"...
There definition has been since watered down to include any form of continous and "unrealistic" jumping.
In BF2 this is exhibited when people are getting shot at them will start rapidily jumping and moving around at random (often while trying to reload their grenade launcher) in an effort to avoid being shot.
WHy is this a problem? Well in online FPS there are essentially (and this is very simplified) two schools of thought. The first is that these are just games and you should do whatever it is possible to do to win, thus "bunnyhopping" is legit. The second is people whom are trying to play the game "as it was intended" and with BF2 being a reasonable accurate (if somewhat arcade in style) portrate of modern combat, this second group find the sight of enemy soldiers jumping repeated 6ft in the air to avoid being shot spoils the whole atmosphere of the game.
How is right? Who cares??
Well it seems that the developer of BF2 are leaning toward the second group at the moment with the new patch. Bunny hopping is still possible, but yu will not be able to fire your weapon.
Dolphin dive is, however, history after the patch...Comment

Poor tactic overused by people who dont know how to properly take cover or perform evasive manuvers while getting shot at.
To jump and go prone is ok......once.
