n00b Question: Does heat affect video artifacts while running 3dmark 06 etc?

I overclocked my video card to 400/1.10 mhz but I get some artifacts. not a lot that it affects the visuals but it is definitely there and i see it. I dont want this so how can i remove the artifacts? If heat affects it then I can easily buy cooling for my video card. So can anyone please answer my question or will i just have to settle with lower clock speeds (LAME)? thanks!

Yes thats a heat problem. You can start by going to a web site called Heatsink-guide.com. If you still want to run the card over clocked, I would search the web for options. Remember running your chips at a higher clock speed shortens thier life span. If thats ok, then you can jack the speed up as long as you can keep it in the right temp. range. Also, if your CPU cant keep up it wont do you any good to over clock past a certin point. Hope this helps. . . . .Red
