"Bug that allowed players in vehicles to contest a flag from outside the flag radius is now fixed."
Saw it ias a bugfix in 1.2 in the new Community Update. What does that mean? Which flags can be contested "outside the radius" by vehicles right now? The first two flags in Karkand? Hotel and Market? You can take them by driving a vehicle close to the walls there, but I thought of it as a feature, not a bug? Anyone knows what flags they think of?

The only ones I can think of are the first two flags in Karkand that you mentioned though never really considered this a bug though.

all the flags. sometimes when you are in a veh you can see you are capping the flag. once you unload from the veh, the ticket draining thingy goes away. that means you in veh, bigger radius for capping a flag

I thought that was pretty normal, as you get out on the left side of the vehicles and it is possible that the distance increased after that, depending on how you parked the vehicle?

There is a bug where you can drive around the whole map and still register that you are in the flag radius. I'm not going to explain exactly how to do it. Once you die or get out of the vehicle then you won't be registered in the radius anymore.

One guy posted here that he could cap the TV Station flag on Sharqi Peninsula in a vodnik. I don't know how it works, I was also unaware of this.

I guess this works hand in hand with players having to disembark from the vehicle to speed up flag capture. Some flags are meant to be hard to cap, and capping from a vehicle takes an element of vulnerability away from it.

I guess I'll have to try some of my favourite 'cap-with-a-vehicle' flags and jump out of the vehicle and see...never really noticed it before.

You could cap dalian plant's warehouse flags from on roof in a blackhawk

Normally the left side, however if theres something blocking the exit on the left it will pop you out on the right, if somethings on both sides - the back and if blocked on all sides except the front, it won't let you out at all. When you hit E it makes a wierd sound. You can force it into this situation by taking a vodnik on Karkand and backing it into the alley at the hotel(the alley on the US base side of the hotel) and backing up all the way until you get stopped by the box thing. Outside of forcing it into a situation like that, you'll be hardpressed to experience the phenomenon.

i never thought of that as a bug tbh
as far as i was aware vehicles that couldnt enter a flag area like the power station at mastuur were simply capping from further away because of that

What about being able to cap the Lower Dam CP on Kubra from the tunnels? That is pretty lame and should be fixed imo.

That's because of the large radius of the flag, not the vehicle bug. You can cap it on foot by standing in the hallway in the tunnel.

Hmm..I wonder how many flags are going to be affected by this? Maybe many of the ways we were capturing flags up until now were actually bugs...

A pretty good example is capping the flag with a blackhawk from the roof on dalian plant. You can cap it within the vehicle but if u bail out and stand on the roof you're not in the radius.

Thats the best example i seen. If you want a good understanding of the problem read above :)
