I'm sure EA steps up to the plate in the most extreme situations.

Especially if it deals with their "baby"; ranking system.

I know theres a bug around on certain severs preventting 1 side from creating more than 2 squads but this is different

dont bash ROX server, the server is great, i play there almost exlcusively. Sometimes you just cant make squads, whether it be a bug, or whatever, i dont know. Whatever the cause, i dont see why you would want to make the server out to be a bad place. I play there all the time, so i gotta stick up for them. There are admins on most of the time and they keep their server clean of tk-ers and such nasties. Its possible the people being kicked/banned had locked squads, which is not allowed there. I dont know what the "both teams are not allowed to make squads" thing is, but maybe they were trying to keep one side from making squads to keep it balanced.

Regardless, the server does not deserve the reputation you are implying.

No, You misunderstand. Let me rephrase. First I dont think it was a bug, someone had turned off the squads for one side. I have heard that discussed here before. Next, this is only my opinion from what I saw, It seemed to be someone on the authorized admin list. The part that Amazed / Impressed me was that someone with higher power, some how, came in and corrected the problem. Not only did they correct the problem but let everyone know it had been corrected. Now I dont know if it was the leader of the Rox server or maybe EA. I only know, I was surprised. As you probably already know there are some servers out there that run less than fair games and if you join that server your only option is to leave. Not here. The Rox problem was corrected in less than 2 minutes. I was so impressed I added them to my Favorites list. I will be back there.

Each squad leader is a mobile spawn point, you gain a big advantage by diallowing one team to use this feature. Also the reference to the server message "Join us on our other stat padding server Blah Blah" was to the messages you see on some bad servers. I always think "What, they do this on more than one server". I didnt mean it to reflect on ROX. Rox is a good place to pick up a good game!

In short I was only trying to say that the people at Rox run a fair game and will do whatever it takes to keep it that way! I have been asking, for a long time, for EA/Dice to add a server quality control staff. I even have a question I posted, a few days ago, to that effect in the Questions for EA section. Do you really believe EA/DICE moved on it that quick? I dont. It had to be someone in charge on the ROX server. Which I found to be an unusual thing in public servers. I was impressed. A very classy thing to do! . . . . . .Red

First off - its a bug. I have seen it happen on our server. Rebooting the server fixed it.

The messages that you saw - that was an admin on the console client. Instead of putting in a name - they just put "Server". When I type in the console - it shows as 'admin: beerstein" - because I signed in under my account, instead of just one of the basic accounts.

One night we had this bug happen - so we tried troubleshooting - we had both sides drop all squads - did not fix. Other side was able to create 7 or 8 squads without issue. Then we got it to work where we could create one squad and one squad only on the side that was having trouble.

After that - once the map changed, I rebooted the server - no more problem.

Oh, and as much as some would like to believe - there is no server setting for turning squads on or off.

Also - it was not EA connecting as an admin. People buy their servers from hosting companies, or they host themselves. This does not give EA the rights to pop on as an admin any time they want. EA would still need the server IP, the admin port, and then the user name and password to log in.

They might have some code that allows them to be in a game and promote themself to an admin through the game, but as for getting in through the console any time they want - I seriously doubt it.

Yeah, it was just another admin. Sometimes if you have a server with too many admins, there will be some admins who like to **** with server settings, and a senior admin has to come in knock some heads. That's why we are very careful as to who gets admin status and who doesn't. Only the guys that have been in the clan for a few years get it typically.
