    can OCing slow down performance?

i read somewhere that bf2 is sensitive to overclocking, so i was wondering if ocing my video card can slow down bf2 and ive sortof noticed some stuttering, and im not sure if its the patch1.12 or the ocing

    (clock speed 250mhz to 270mhz)
    (mem speed 400mhz - 430mhz)

when I Oced my processer, I didnt see any rise in performance, but when I Oced my gfx card, at first there was a decreas in performance, but then an increase the more I used it. But 2 gigs of am would be nessescary.

I have played BF2 on an x700 and a 7800gt and in both cases BF2 did not react well to overclocking when the same overclock worked fine for other games

Have you ever checked to see how much work your CPU is doing when you are having problems. I did. I checked task manager and my CPU was running over 80%. When they added patch 1.12 it made your CPU work harder for some reason. Which leeds me to believe its a heat problem. I know you O/C ed the video card but the CPU tried to keep up which made it run hotter. I just spent about a month tracking down a similar problem on my computer. I know you dont wanna hear this but Ive also noticed its mostly Intel users having a problem. I dont think they are used to dealing with overclocking as much as AMD users are. Intel users usually dont have to go there. I hope this helps. . . . . .Red
