On Oman: So I was rolling along that open area to the right of the construction site (when you are looking towards the ocean) in an apc, when suddenly I see a sniper in the corner of my eye. I rotate my turrent towards him, and he goes prone. Now he is out in the open, no where to hide. I sat there for a couple seconds pondering the situation. It was just too easy. It didn't feel right to just kill him.
So instead I fired a couple shots around him, no movement. I felt sorry for the guy, so I decided to even things up. Having read his tag, I typed in global "Hey xxxxxxx, want to knife fight?". No answer. To encourage him I jump out and pull out my trusty knife. No response. I charge, and he starts firing. "Wtf?!?!?!" I think, wondering how he could be so cruel after I went through such lengths to give him a fair fight. Anyways, I was still charging when he pulled out his pistol, dropping me to two bars of health. I plunged forward and my knife hit home with a puff of dust rising from the tip. As I sat there triumphed, a teamate of his stole my apc and proceeded to role over me. Then I decided to mess with the sniper some.
"Why would you do that xxxxxxx?". "I got out of a frieken APC and you still acted like a jerk". Well eventually he piped up, claiming he didn't see my knife fight invitations and wasn't even sure that I saw him in the apc. As a gesture, he challenged me to another knife fight on the bridge. After dieing a few times and killing a couple of his teamates, I finally make it to the bridge and we duke it out. Well, he won that time, but for the next 4 rounds we ended up knifing it out in the most peculiar locations.
We'd often have trouble getting to a good location. Ofter his team would cap a base right near our battleground and I'd end up getting killed. Well we were even fighters, but I believe he ended up winning more rounds. We even tied each other one time
. So in the end he turned out to be a nice guy, a good sport, and a great knifer. Bravo xxxxxx, whoever you are.
