Can't connect to the Login Server

Okay. Something very wierd is going on.

I just got broadband where I live. Purchased the cable modem myself, (Motorola SURFboard SB5120) and a wireless router so that my wife can get online with her computer as well, (NetGear WGR614 v6 Wireless Router).

Everything works swimmingly. Except that I can't log on to the Battlefield 2 account server. Or any other game servers, for that matter. I've tried GameSpy, Star Wars: Galaxies, Everquest 2, et al. None of them work. I always get a variation of "Server has refused the connection."

I've disabled every firewall I could find, including the Windows firewall, I've DMZ'ed my router. I've done everything I can think of doing to get this damned thing to work.

    Any ideas?

Nope, you've kinda done everything that I could have suggusted anyhow.

Do you have a modem that you could connect with dial-up just to rule out a PC problem?

Excellent idea. I'll try that. In the mean time, any input would be welcome.

How about not putting the router in the DMZ and forwarding the ports instead to see if it works?
