Is it just me, or are you guys dissapointed with the power of the Pistols?

I cannot stand knowing that no matter how good of a shot I am, I will ALWAYS die when someone with a rifle is reloading and I continually shoot him, with the damage reticle just lighting up non-stop, and then he takes two shots and I'm done for. Please, tell me I'm not the only one.

the pistols are actually very accurate and pretty strong.

Yeah dude, i was on Sharqi as sniper and i had 2 bars of health left, and i was running around a corner and a SF medic with the g36e ran into me, and he immediatley went prone, and i shot him twice in the head with my pistol and he died, and I got full health and a g36e after taking his kit :laugh:

i would like to have a little more power with them i use it some and most of the time i get a kill when i do just have to aim right cause to me they work really good and great for sneak attacks

Thanks for being courteous and kind to a very young totalbf2er. I like the forums here, much more active than the IGN boards (which I moderate for). I guess I SUCK with the pistol. I love using them though : (

Pistols aren't really meant for power...they are your backup...same with the knife. It's also a 9mm handgun, which anyone whos fired or knows much about guns, 9mm is not that powerful compared to other rounds. Now, if every side was issued .357 magnum or something...lol

HAHAHA no.... i love my pistol. I can kill someone in under 5 shots using my ironsights. And it is teh perfect finisher for sniping. 1hit with the sniper brings health to 2 bars 1 shot from pistol finisjhes it. Thats how we do it! :)

Considering how weak the rifles are (not to mention the SMGs), the pistols are quite powerful. An M-16A2 in the game only does 50% more damage than a 9mm pistol. They're also more accurate than the rifles when zoomed.

It is weak (five shots to kill a guy with a tshirt on, straight at the heart) but usually does the job at close range since you can fire so fast. Great for owning people you snipe and when you know enemies are hurt.
