Re: a question about first seargent?
you are either first sergeant then sergeant major or master sergeant then master gunnery sergeant the reason for this is because this is how it is in the Marines the person picks the path he goes when its time for promotion each path has diffrent duties and so on so in this case if you dont have all the badges you need before you get the promotion you will end up master sergeant then master gunnery sergeant the master sergeant is = to first sergeant and master gunnery sergeant is = to sergeant major there is no diffrenceComment

Re: a question about first seargent?
haha um..no...the ranks go master sgt, 1st sgt, master gunnery sgt, and sgt major. If you reach the rank of master gunnery sgt, you can never get promoted to sgt major. Same applies to the rank of master sgt, you wont get 1st sgt. Its the way they set it up, if you dont have the reqs by the time you get promoted, you will never reach that rank. I will never reach the rank of 1st sgt (because of that stupid glitch), however, when I reach 50,000 points, I will be promoted to sgt major.Originally posted by vm2092if you're master sergeant and you get all of the badges, it doesnt automatically promote you to first sergeant. you have to be master gunnery sergeant, get all of the badges and then the next rank you to go is first sergeant.
This topic has been discussed many times before. I know a lot about it because I got screwed out of 1st sgt even though I exceeded the reqs for it. If you want to know more about it, try doing a search.Comment
