    Re: ATI Cat 6.1

Heh you beat me to it. I check for drivers for everything everyday. I just scanned the New Posts, and dang if you didn't get a thread going before me =P

(the link on the front page doesn't work for me, at least not through Firefox, and the site is really slow for me, but I can't wait to see if there's any peformance boost)

    =)

Yea - it's slow for me too. ATI driver updates come out around the 15th of each month eg: 6.01 where 01 is Jan - next month 6.02 for Feb update etc...

            Re: ATI Cat 6.1

Could someone give me a quick lesson on updating drivers?

I just go to the ATI site, download and install them.

I have read about other drivers (Omega???) that may be better and that using some sort of "drivercleaner" helps.

Should I be doing something different?

            If needed, my specs are:
            P4 3.0
            1.5 gig of RAM
            X800xl

            Thanks in advance

                    Re: ATI Cat 6.1

Please, whatever you do, don't deinstall your videocard. It'll negate all reality and we'll all disappear.

You might want to look into uninstalling it though. That's perfectly safe. Well, your COMPUTER might blow up. But the world won't. Please... think of the children.

                      Re: ATI Cat 6.1

Just installed it and I'm getting horrible fps compared tot he 5.13 Extreme. The game stutters alot and when I got into a Jet, I seemed to instantly crash and then the view changed to me crashing so I skipped taking off, Hard to explain. Anyway, I also encountered a walking problem on my screen, sometimes it will go all fuzzy and act as if your pressing ctrl a lot, but your aren't left me stuck until someone killed me. I get worse fps during the start of the round than usual. For all I can say, I'm rolling back. Woo yay for system restore.
