Post your Best Tweaks for BF2

I am interested in developing a list of ideal tweaks for optimum game performance. I'm an intermediate user with a mid-grade machine

P4 2.8 HT
1 GB RAM
ATI 9800 PRO 128MB (AGP)

The game runs fine, but I cen't help think there are some good tricks in the WINCONFIG arena.

The directX 9.0 hack for sure.

I was almost ready to throw my system away, x800, p4 3.0, 2gb ram, sata 8mb cache drive. Running like sh*t, even on 800x600 / all high w/ AA..

I installed this patch, it bought a tear to my eye how well it runs now. It's like a totally different game. I was playing worse, beacuse I was used to playing with a delay, now it's totally responsive and im not used to it..

1280x1024 w/ medium/ high combo & AA x2 running so sweet, bought a tear to my eye again!!!!!!

the patch is NOT BS and seems to be effective for LCD monitors.

I have tweaked, reinstalled ati drivers, windows, defragged, formatted, punched, kicked, screamed,

the directx hack is the only thing that has made a notable difference to my bf2 performance, im now running about 56/30 whatever that means, from 30/18

that is almost never the case..... If your hard drive is small and you have alot of Page File swapping and use of Virtual memory you may need to just get a bigger hard drive.

He has a GB of ram, that is plenty....i also have a GB of ram, and Process Manager says BF2 uses a maximum of 600MB of Ram...yet my hard drive goes crazy.....that is the virtual memory being over used.

2 GB is what is need to play with no stuttering. I upgraded from 1-2 and it made a huge difference.

YES FOR YOU ITS ENOUGH! You have the setting on LOW or something so the mem usage doens't get up so high...
