Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
Yup, this game just doesn't compare to black arrow and the original rs3. Maybe they'll never get it right and go back to what we really liked, and maybe some developers will stop selling out to be just like halo. I mean, the graphics are nice, but the guns don't seem.. right. And i whant the old characters back.
RAINBOW 6 IS BACK!
I played all of the Rainbow 6 series, starting with the original, all the way through R6: Raven Shield (or whatever that Quake Engined P.O.S. Was)
I played it for about 2 hrs last night, great new features like you can tell your team to advance now, supress, throw grenades, take cover, very cool stuff. It is like a hybrid of SWAT 4 (DA BOMB) of Full Spectrum Warrior. The weapons are superb, the gameplay is great (the ability to lean around corners, which Red Storm invented in gaming, is back!)
The downsides are:
Clipping issues
Partially retarded badguys (still pretty lethal)
Team members getting confused
Friendly fire while supressing
Other than those issues, which I am sure RS is working on, it is a great game and I will buy it (not steal it like a hacker, I buy good games, it infuses money into the gaming industry so they can make more good games, all you hackers out there, try it, it makes you feel good)
My thoughts... given that I havent played it yet and am downloading it at home while I am at work...
I'll pass.
I have never been impressed with the 'friendly' AI in the game and now it looks like you cant even set up a planning phase. Great! So now I wont even get to plan my teammates to move and open a door (Other than the given command at the door)...just to watch them stand in the doorway and suck down bullets.
Only 1 team... No more storming a room from multiple entry points
The Demo may aleviate some of my thoughts, but i doubt it. I finally started playing all the other games as single teams of 1 man.... control them until i got set then switched to another. (I cant count how many times my guys would turn to face a wall when they had a long hall way to their backs... only to have an enemy walk up that hall and kill them all)
Unless something staggering is shown in the improvement in AI. I will stick with Q4 / bf2 / or civ 4 (Noteing that q4 and RS (Should i get it) will only be played in single player as I have grown more and more against MP play as the sheer number of dimwits find the online play features. )
Things that stood out from the article"
Still, we should note that the PC version of Lockdown isn't quite Rainbow Six as you may know it.
And Quake 4 isnt as Rainbow six as I know it either.... So many variable can be placed in the vague description.
The location damage also helps the death animations
Target box hit animations are promising
The artificial intelligence in Lockdown looked a bit flaky at times, but it was fairly solid from what we saw, and the game is still in development,
I doubt it will be any better (Played all the other RS series and it never really much improved.)
While the levels are big, they're not quite as large or as wide open as those found in earlier Rainbow Six games on the PC
Great... 16 smaller levels...
three-bar health system.
Ok. Loss for realism fans here (potentially) No more 1 shot kills.
While Lockdown isn't Rainbow Six as PC gamers know it, the good news is that this is a much more serious game than the console versions
takeing a good **** is better than the console version... so this is a weak comparison at best.
Sounds like they could have called it something else but are hoping to cash in on name recognition.
Again... these are simply my opinions. given the fact that I particularly play the games in SP mode. the article seemed focused on the graphical improvements (which are nice) but a gold painted piece of p00p... is still a pice of p00p, despite looking realy nice.
I am not a Rainbow Six community member, I play games that are engaging and have good graphics. I have noticed any time a group of players get together into a "community", it becomes a group of people who tear the game apart to the last 0 and 1. I am sick of these so called "communities".

After playing the mission, the map seemed very linear. Luckily it's only the demo so I'm not reading too much into it. The game play feels like RvS, and the graphics & sound are excellent. I hope they take a look at the walking and running (walking is way to slow...and running is way to fast). Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get online yet for multiplayer so I can't say anything on that aspect of the game.
