Points for hitting a tank

What do you think about getting a point for EVERY hit you make with a rocket, not necessarily destroying it?

I play AT a lot, and i'm not the type of player that plays just to get as many points as possible, but it's a bit discouraging when I hit a tank two or three times, and then some1 hits it the fourth time and gets 2 or 4 points, when basically I did all the work. It's kinda :hmm:

What do everyone else think?

Some one had a better idea. The person who did the most damage get's the kill. The person doing the next amount gets the assist.

If you want to get the kill for an AT rocket kill, first fire your rocket, wait for other AT guy to fire his rocket, and after, finish him off with your rocket.

So much for "Teamwork" you sneaky bastards Always caring about points...

It's not all about points and ranking, esp when you play AT, but sometimes it would be nice to get an odd point for hurting a tank so much it drives off to look for an engineer.

Waiting for someone else to shoot it isn't an option. It never works out that way on the battlefield. You either try to kill it or it kills you.

I totally agree. I make the final hit to a tank maybe once in eight time but I do not complain. I play AT only when there is a tank destroying people around me and me so I shoot at it at every opportunity I got, usually that ends in my death but I have at least damaged it so that someone else can finish it. That is my way of thinking but it would be nice to get some credit for it. I do not seek it same as Pivko but it would be nice to get it.

Sometimes, but very rarely, it happens that you get a kill damage assist if you hit it before someone else finishes it of. My point is, that destroying a tank is not as easy as shooting someone with a rifle, and it's easier to get killed, (especially if you're the only AT cause everyone thinks "someone else will spawn as an AT and he'll kill the tank, I'll just wait".), and you're not getting awarded for the hits. Like the other day, I've hit a tank four times (it probably had an engineer behind or a supply crate), but he couldn't hit me because I was underneath him, and no points for it when finally he was destroyed by someone else.

I think that you should get a point for everytime you hit a tank or APC or helo with an AT rocket.

Some will say that another solution is just hit the tank twice in the right place and you'll get the points for blowing it up. As wonderful as this is, I find that a lot of good tank drivers know where the AT guy is after the fist shot and will protect the weak spots, sometimes be just moving about while capping the flag.

Yea, but it is much more difficult to do this then hit someone with a rifle twice. You need to hide to let the launcher reload and then manouver to find another good spot to shoot and then shoot. Shooting sometimes also demands a lot of skill (like shooting at a moving tank from the side with obstacles in the way). Providing that in the meantime enemy infrantry doesn't get you. And you do all that to maybe get 2 points. I agree with Pivko that vehicle shooters should be rewarded aditionally. It is not a problem but it would be nice for tank shooters to be appreciated.

There is that one place on the USMC tank where you can take it out with one shot. Takes skill though...

I've seen the movie where a guy shoots an abrams and takes it out with one shot (it was empty though), and I know where that spot is, but I've never done that, in the heat of battle I mainly just try to hit it, if nothing else maybe he'll run away :-)

Yes it is but you can not take that shot with a missile because it's targeting reticule is too big. You would have to stand about 5 meters in front of the tank (and we all know that not even the first time tank driver will let you do that). That shot can be taken only with another tank because you can train yourself to know where that grenade will hit. You can not do it with a missile because missile can hit anywhere inside it's too big reticule.

You can not do it with a missile because missile can hit anywhere inside it's too big reticule.

There is no way to take a tank with one shot from an AT rocket. The reason is that the AT rocket does not ricochet like a tank round. The reason you can take a tank in one shot is because the shot hits the tank twice by ricocheting off the base and hitting the underside of the turret registering two hits.
