I dont see pilots bomb the edges of the bases.

Once again. Too often people just accept and let themselves be bombed. Not many actually run off. About tanks. Well. Its a shame but the bomber is a tanks biggest threat anyway. Youll just have to try to find a way.

A bomber cant kill you as soon as you spawn if you wont let it happen. A tank in the center of your base however will. Thats the primary difference.
    How very true.

As I said elsewhere, I see nothing wrong with either tactic.

Happens. But I more often survive a bombing run than get killed in it. You respawn, its a game, thus you wont value your "life" enough to do everything you could possibly do to escape the death.

Since its a game, the state of mind is the problem more often than the type of vehicle that its raping you. People want to do things too quickly. You know AA, right? The Bridge Crossing map? Thats the perfect example of how you value your "life" right there. Rushers get killed and the patient ones live to see the end of the round.

The bombing of uncaps could be solved very easily. Like they had a server side option in DC to setup a spawn shield, this could be implemented into BF2 for uncap bases. Basically if a plane tries to enter an uncaps air space it blows up.

The tricky part is it would need to be map selected or on the basis that if not all flags were taken then the spawn shield exists. As soon as all flags are taken the spawn shield disapears.

Man would that take a lot of hassle of policing this rule on our server!

Then all pilots being tailed by a hostile jet would fly into their friendly base and pull up until out of the enemy's sight.
If he tries to follow, he's dead, if he turns to not get into the zone, he loses track.
That would make dogfighting even more uninteresting to most players and therefore aggravate the perceived "bombing jets problem".

You actually have a great point there. Playing the game you obviously have a different state of mind, you feel like the bravest man alive which usually translates into doing stupid and reckless things. I'm guilty of that very often which everyone can see in my K/D ratio. I'm one of those brave souls that will repeteadly spawn in a base camped by a tank and will try to blow him up. I usually do but by that time he killed me probably 5 times already . I think I have to be more careful and less reckless in the future and have to unmap my Rambo button.

              True.

If the planes are taking out the enemy planes on the deck, or as they take over, I personally consider that a valid tactic, as they are ensuring air superiority for their team.

When you get a tank or APC parked in a uncappable, killing people when they spawn...no I dont consider that a good thing. However if it is the only flag remaining for that team, it becomes a whole different issue.

Noone likes to get killed over and over again...its not fun at all...and most games are played for fun.

Its a pity that if it gets to that, and no progress is being made that the commander cant just surrender.
