    Bad Ping Dilema

Hey just got the game, but I have terrible ping. I'm talking in the thousands. I play CS in which i get an average 60 ping so I know its not my internet connection(LAN at a college). Is there something in the console I need to type? I've patched the game already and I've tried closing all my apps, but still the bad ping exists. Tell me what I should do so I can experience the awesomeness that is BF2.

Firewall/antivirus perhaps? These need to be off(for people who are having problems) Also, have you installed patch v1.12?

              Re: Bad Ping Dilema

I have had the same problem for the past few days. I also live on a college campus with a T3 connection, so that definitely wasn't the issue. My hardware is decent, so I was fairly sure that wasn't it. I went through my computer and couldn't find anything wrong. Then I looked in some forums at dslreports.com and found someone talking about firewalls. What I did was took down my zonealarm firewall and put up the windows xp firewall. So far it seems to be working fine. Just sharing what I found.

See you on the field. <salutes>
