Of these games which Should I get

I have some money laying around and I have a list of thigns I want to get with it. My list includes computer parts such as one more stick of 512 ram, and X-fi platinum sound card, or extreme music if I run low on $$, a motherboard (the SLi x16, or an Epox one) and some video games. I wanted Half Life 2/Source, since I have been playing on my friends account and he changed the pass. FEAR, and maybe Doom3. I can get doom 3 and HL2 for 20$ each and FEAR is 50. I dont really want d3 that much and HL2 can wait I guess, but im really looking towards FEAR.

Basically, can anyone who purchased FEAR tell me if its worth 50$ to play a bunch even though I paly BF2 all the time? I can paly at max settings too.

I'd wait for FEAR to get cheaper.
Fun game... but the scenes were very repetative (As a lot of FPS are).
And as stated earlier... not nearly as "scary" as it was proclaiming itself to be. (My personal opinion was the game was too short also... )

F.E.A.R. was ok for me, but if I were you I'd get HL2. There's also supposed to be a expansion pack for HL2 coming out soon. D3 was also ok for me but the multi-player sucks (Oh and theres also an expansion for D3 that I also have but it's not that great), get it for the singleplayer. I agree with guidon and get fear later.

F.E.A.R. is a good game no doubt about that, and the multiplayer is pretty good.

Doom 3 is a really good game, multiplayer isn't very good as ^ said, but you can get mods like last man standing which improve it.

LOL I have Fear Directors Cut but have never played it once, people have said it awesome but, tell me this will I be shooting the same type of enemies through the whole game? I don't think i could handle much of that... I'm so tempted to install...

Yes... Yes you will. With very little exception (toss in a few guys in heavy armor... a few "Spirit/ghost" aparations... But overall... majority are simply the guys you see from level one (A few with new weapons)

If you allready have the game and have the disk space... wont hurt anything to install it and give it a go.

I'd recommend HL2 over FEAR if you're unfamiliar with both games. It has a larger community and the modding scene is huge. Just check www.moddb.com for all the upcoming mods. FEAR was kind of fun, but it's not as groundbraking as HL2.

Which mods would you recommend for half life 2? Preferably something multiplayer but if you can recommend a good single-player mod for halflife I would d/l :)

Maybe, it is where I am looking but I cant seem to find any mods that look worth the download time. The game came out how many years ago.. Why havent there been any amazing mods that have come out. I see some previews of mods that are being worked on that look cool. Like this one called Pirates vikiings, and knights...but its not out yet. Anyways, any recommendations would be appreciated

Sry to be off topic, but one thing i like about the BF community, good mods come out and come out relatively fast. Maybe I am just out of the loop but I haven't heard of any ground breaking mods for HL2

I thought fear, wasnt like in your face scares. it had more of an eerie and creepy feeling to it. Where as Doom3 was more of a Spook house sort of scary. FEAR seemed more psychological fear to me. that little girl scared the **** out of me!
