Not able to change my video settings

I recently bought a 6600GT cause i needed an upgrade from my 9200 pro. so the first day i got it, i put the settings to medium, got a good FPS and left it there. It worked for a week or 2 flawlessy, untill something happened to my bf2 a couple days ago and i had to reinstall. now, i am not able to change my graphical settings. it says it is on "medium", but it most definately isnt. everything ingame is on low, even though when i go to the settings it still says "medium". i have tried to change it to high also with no luck.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated

the rest of my specs are as follows:

P4 2.4 Ghz
Asus P4XPX
758MB RAM
400W psu

Have you tried deleting your cache?

didnt think of that. unfortunately, it didnt work . but i found the problem! my refresh rate ingame was lower than my refresh rate in my system properties. just bumping therefresh rate ingame did the trick
