Very interesting replies. I'll try to use bursts. As everyone has said, I'm guessing that going full auto is not the right thing.

What's CQB? Is semi-automatic represented by 1 on the screen?

CQB = Close Quarters Battle
Yes, semi auto is represented by a 1. Hit the weapon button (eg 3) to switch fire modes.

Hehe..despite all of my explaining..I'm thinking that may be your ONLY problem. If you're going FULL AUTO on everybody, then there is your answer

Yeah, single shot or bursts is the only way to go, specially with weapons like the G3 with become horrendously inaccurate after mutli shots.

And for those of you who think the L85 sucks, on spray n pray that's true. But if you double tap it becomes a very effect med-range weapon. Double tap as in *pop pop* pause just a little *pop pop*

I find even WITH double tapping with the L85 that a pistol just seems better

I use assault the majority of the time and you definately want to be burst shooting with all weapons (especially the G3). If you do run dry don't wait for reload. You will have probably hurt them a fair bit and if you strafe and shoot with your pistol then you have a good chance of finishing them before they can finish you.

I like the G3 though I do tend to swap about depending on the map/situation.
