In the computer business, you get what you pay for. If it's cheap, it's cheap for a reason.

I have been a PC tech for the last 10 years, and a few years ago you would have been absolutely correct. However given the rise of overseas production and NAFTA, CAFTA and the WTO, you can get some fairly decent stuff for not alot of money. This was a $40 PSU reduced. I beleive this thread was aimed at all of our friends who blew their load on a new CPU and GPU and forgot the PSU. Hardware Elitists like u and I don't buy these PSU's, but Jimmy-the-college-student does. Chances are it will work just fine. Until recently this PSU graced my rig:
              http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MESO%3AIT&rd=1
FPS isn't the pinnacle of PSU makers but it ran just fine.
              Now I have this:

It is better to have more power than you need, than not enough....

It is childish of you to call someone "dumb" because they cannot afford a $180 PSU, Check this company out, hell call them and find out what their warranty and coverage is like.

Ok guys this is simply a case of "too good to be true"
This is a 385W PSU, made by Orion Products, is has been mis-advertised as a 585Watt PSU. Even on HEC's site the wattage is not listed. I just talked to a marketing dude at HEC, he apologized for the misunderstanding and said he would rectify it.

That is funny, that same guy told me it was 385W. Oh well, here is another PSU. It is an actual 400W:

It is a CodeGen, a known brand, and it is $23.00.

Well that is great Mr. 3dMark05 = 8535, but if you read my earlier post you would have seen that I wasn't aiming this thread at you. Like I said earlier, I have a $180 Sintek 600W PSU, I am a hardware snob. Most hardware doesn't pass my whiff test. You are like that too. However there are people out there who need an inexpensive PSU because they are teenagers or college students who cannot afford the nicer gear. DO YOU UNDERSTAND NOW NORTON?

What are you mad cause your wrong about the PSU? Relax you made a mistake and you said you did. No big deal. Fortunately most people have sense enough to stay away from weird, bad advertising, no name, not even listing all the specs, badly fluctuating PSU's. For those that don't know any better, It would be nice before starting a thread like this, to do some homework first.

PS please change the ns to ms after your monitor in your sig.
