Hi wise old tanktop,

Its just mobile/wireless activity we are involved in sorry! we dont actually work for ea so buddy lists are there area, but we're looking for Innovative ideas using mobile technology and BF2. Like messaging etc, any ideas?

This is a mindblower but being able to watch replays on a phone or some other toy away from the computer/laptop for BF2, C&C and basicaly RTS games overall would be nice to see but overall for FPS games its demos. Demos demos demos.So i'd say check out what can be done for phones and such in the video playback department since gaming seems to quickly becoming a spectator sport.

that functionality is certainly available in many new phones, mp4 and 3gp playback. Thats a great idea something to add to our brainstorm, now to figure out the best way to get it from bf2 to a phone!

What file format are demo's currently saved as by the way?

thats another thing we're thinking about, it could be paid for by sponsers.

Would you guys be interested in incentives to get other people to buy the game such as increase in rank or be given weapons or new maps?

Not really. All I want from the game is to play it online, have fun then check my stats to see how I am improving.

I don't want my email address to be sent around the web, I don't want spam and I see little reason to check my stats on a tiny screen on a handset when I am not able to get online and try to improve them.

I expect this is true for most people - they check them at work, they play the game when at home. They have no need or desire to look at them beyond that.

But as for other things my best advice is think RTS since replays are what make the community and if you got ties with a certain company like EA (C&C, LOTR BFME) well who knows what may happen. *winks in a very overt fashon*

And for goodness sake DON'T SUPPORT THE TEDIUM OF THE GRIND as long as the game doesn't support totaly even balanced weapons than freebees like weapons shouldn't be allowed but instead maybe skins or custom art logos or something that doesn't affect gameplay in the slightest. Having to buy my way into better weapons for an evened battle ground is what has driven me away and insome cases to speak out against certain games. So lets leave the skill to everyone instead of just content.
Demos of tourneys like 21CW or Clan stuff like CAL leauges, GotFrag, etc... should easily sell the game well enough because prof. level play can show how good the gameplay of a game is and at the end of the day shouldn't good to great gameplay come out ahead? Sadly it doesn't with sheep consumerism but overall good game + good players should = good advertising.

we're totally against spam, thats not even part of our programming at all.

Anybody have any other ideas they would like to see intergrated with mobile technology? SMS match invitation, clan news updates etc?

League ladders could use that well, you could see what matches are ready to be played throughout the league (fixtures) and see rankings, past history (wins/losses) and have some sort of clan vs clan stats comparison. I think it would be fairly cool if you could wake up in the morning and see that "x" beat "y" and "v" beat "z" overnight, thus moving "q" to the top of the ladder :) Then, while at uni you could just read the match reviews on your mobile because lectures are boring as hell.

Naturally, if anyone asked you what you were reading you'd be quick to say "Sky News Updates" :laugh:

hey Loud Howard,

that sounds a quality idea. Just thinking that it would probably need to be wap based with all that info, would that still interest you?

Also Howard is there one place where ranks are stored? like a EA based site or is split on whatever server you play on? The main problem i have found from playing is that there are tons of different sites such a clanbase etc. So ideally there would be one main one to focus on or the best one? any ideas who that would be?

Clan league table tracking and match review reading is a really good idea tho!

But thats not a ladder system, unless EA runs their own league I don't know of any central database for that info - if you could somehow work a program for individual leagues where they put the info in themselves or grab it automotically from ladder systems such as this:

I'd have no idea how you'd do it actually, while some sort of automatic program to do all this would be awesome, I'm most probably just dreaming.

Yes, your individual stats are always recorded - you can see them from the BFHQ tab in the games menu or use external sites like http://bf2s.com/ or http://bf2tracker.com/
