Installed Special Forces - Unable to join SF servers

Hi,

I installed Special Forces yesteday and when I try to play online and click on "Join Game" after the map loads, I get kicked off the server with a message saying that the server accepts only unmodified content.

I had applied all the patches to BF2 prior to the Special Forces installation. I also noticed that Special Forces automatically did an update to 1.1.

Is there a patch that I need to apply? Has anyone else experienced this?

You must install 1.12 AFTER installing SF.

If you installed it before then patch again.

hey, I had the exact same problem, and I managed to fix it... What I did was uninstall it all and and reinstall BF2, SF, and then the 1.12 patch and then things worked fine. It was suggested that I could just update it to 1.12 without going through all of that but I didnt try it. If you want the fail proof method just redoo it all, it worked for me. good luck!

When you install special forces, it overwrites ALL previous vesions of Bf2 patches and adds their SF default patch hence why you need at install 1.12.

No need to uninstall it simply do what DrunkenPirate said and re-apply patch 1.12 If you had previously patched it to 1.12 then installed SF it reverts back to 1.1 and "all" you need to do is reapply 1.12 again. Uninstalling/re-installing is a waste of time.

I applied the 1.12 patch and now it works! So, what was the patch that SF applied when I installed the game? Was it a decoy patch? If anything, it should apply the latest patch or go to the Internet and check what I would need to apply.

No wonder, Gamespot's reviewers were baffled by the SF installation.

Anyway, I love this game.

Like stated above - no need to uninstall anything. Just - reapply the 1.12 patch - works every time.

Anyway, I love this game.

The patch that came with SF is 1.1 and it was merely a patch to incorporate BF2 and SF so SF unlocks could be used on BF2. It had some problems so 1.12was released to fix them.

Good to see you got it sorted, just hope people who have the same prob use the search function from now on. unless this gets made a sticky, it may help a lot out so no new threads are made about this because its a very common problem.
