how do i edit the text which comes up?

I know it's possible to edit your localization files to say 'you pwned' instead of 'you killed' or 'Sif Punish Noob' instead of 'you were punished for a teamkill!'

and i don't know how to edit them. help appreciated.

i'm having trouble with this. i've edited english.utxt but the changes don't show up. it keeps showing the old messages

I'm betting you left your backup copy in or under the same directory

Not sure, Talus and myself had that issue too, I just moved the original to my Second HDD and it worked.

It seems like it scans the localization dir and all subdirs for the list of files it uses...glad I could help

mine's edited to show which weapon people Tk with, and changes M203 and GP-30 to say 'Noobtubed' among other things

I just used SaladFork's file with a slight modification making the 'killed' message coloured.

e.g. You killed random_n00b_001
