Anyone else miss the early days?

As far back as the demo...

I thought it was so much better. There were very few jets owning games, aircraft could be taken out with missiles since all the pilots were new, and people would work together since the squads feature was new and interesting.

Also, I thought it was much more immersive. It was always a battle of M16s vs. AKs. Now everyone on both teams are using their new SF weapons. I appreciate the unlocks, but I really liked the old way where USMC/MEC/PLA used their real life counterparts.

Anyone else miss this stuff?

Funny, I went back to play the demo and found the AA too be much much more effective.

Yea the demo was much more friendly and fun to play in, however it lacked good competition and yea the AA was definetily much better.

Everyone was ubernoob, even the BF1942/Desert Combat players were like 'WTF".......Demo was way more awesome....
Seems to me that the number of players has really decreased. Servers that were always full (popular) have been getting a bit more empty as weeks go by...Instead of making booster packs and crap, they should fix the game once and for all, and give up more maps....We already have SF that's enough...MORE MAPS< LESS BOOSTER GAMES!@!!!!

rememberd when i was with a friend playing bf2 demo and i sniped like 56 guys in a game so funny was that remembers of how fun it was when i was a noob :) that i need to learn all of the stuff instead of teaching others though it is fun to learn beginners of how to play a game :)

i remember that when i threw mines at tanks ppl would still run over them, even if they saw me putting them there... lots of ppl didn know what mines were heheh

these days only the teammates do that ....

I was thinking old days as in DC. I do, and I miss that game. Although, I just played it for the first time in a while, and didnt like it as much as I thought I would.

You cant go backwards, but some MODs are whats needed now.

P.S. other than DCON, I am awaiting pirates BF2. Komono island BF2 style please!!!!!!

You do realize that people have the tendency to only recall the good moments and events from their past than the bad times? I'm sure the problems and ticks you face today in BF2, you experienced it in the BF2 demo.

I quite agree.
I'm having much more fun now than in the demo. The teamplay is often better by orders of magnitude, simply because the one in the demo was often quite "."

Oh the days of DC, BFV, POE, Eve of Destruction, Dice City, so on and so on...When you played and werent rewarded with anything other than a good time...now you get a good time and some silly little ranking/unlocks...

However I like keeping track of my stats so I can see where Im improving or if I'm slipping anywhere and need to practice...Plus I can keep track of my Armor Whoreness :)


This makes me happy and with the MODs to come Im sure there will be many more good times on the virtual battlefield ahead...

Its like that with any online game, when they add stuff its good and bad.

When i played SOCOM For PS2 it was the same damn way.....i really do miss the good old days of the first game.
