The purple heart is cool... you must get it! So what... 20 deaths, who cares. Just get one kill for every 4 times you die.
And it must be at least 5:20, nothing less.Comment

Got it a while back when I wanted to try get every medal, but now I really just play for fun, but when I looked at it most of the other medals are really hard to get.
Anyway its a medal, some people don't want it, others do as a collection to their awards.Comment

Ok, to get this you have to have an exact ratio of four times as many deaths as kills with a minimum of 5 kills. Quickest way of gettig it is to make those 5 kills and then die 20 times. If you make a 6th kill before you have died 20 times you will have to die 24 times (6x4) in order to get the award. Why anyone would want to intentionally get this makes me smile. I have received this award 3 times, always when playing medic, yet getting one of the top score scores at the end of the round.Comment

I got the heart playing as a medic.
I also got Meritious Unit Ribbon on the same game.
I found getting this one easy. I didn't even play any differently. I struggled to make kills in this game, and only let myself die once on 'purpose' (and there was no guarantee I would have killed the guy with my crappy gun anyway).
I've had worse streaks of luck.Comment

you need to have over a 1:4 kill:death ratio with at least 5 kills
Which means if you get 5 kills you need 20 deaths, if you accidently get 6 kills you need to get 24 deaths, if you get 7 kills you need 28 deaths etc
The purple heart in real life is for people injured in battle as far as I remember, so its an appropriate stat to get the medal in the game. I purposly earned mine, but thats because im after all the medals/ribbons etc (excluding the 4,500 hour ones )

Why? Everyone should get the purple heart, because it is a medal to be added to your collection. Even the best players in the world have it, for the only purpose of having it.
