Game crash+computer restart while loading game-help

    Hi there,
During the last few weeks ive been experiencing an annoying problem,
Throughout the game loading, the screen turns blue for a second, and the computer restarts. The windows always gives me a different exuse for the crash, sometimes the bf2 profile, some times windows files, the bf2.exe itself etc'.
This problem only happens in bf2, and nothing similar happened in any other game.
Ive tried reinstalling the game, updating all drivers, checking for problems with the hardware itself, I have no idea what causes the crashes.
When I create a new bf2 account user, the problem seems to disappear,
    And after a while returns.
    My hardware just in case-
    AMD3000+ 64BIT
    1024MB RAM
    G-FORCE 6800GT 256MB

    Im totally desperate

Go into System control panel (WINKEY+PAUSE/BREAK) then Advanced tab, click Settings button next to Startup and Recovery. In the System Failure section, set Automatically Restart to unticked/unselected.

Now you can see the error and read it before Windows restarts. Tell us what it says, e.g. if there are som filenames in it.

      thx,
the message shows that windows suffered a problem and must reboot
      it wrote - IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
afterrwards it gave a few tips about what to do in case of new software.
it also wrote- ***STOP 0X00000A and a large amount of numbers.
      -beginning dump of physical memory
      -physical memory dump complete

In the windows scan it wrote a number of currupted files,
that every times it shows other files, so i cant find out what exactly is wrong.

Usually this is driver related or software interfering with the OS, like antivirus or other utils.

Have you installed all the latest drives for your chipset or sound and video cards??

graphic cards yes, i have the latest nvidia driver installed.
very possible that it might be my antivirus. I use norton antivirus 2005
and i recall that windows did show some corrupted files in the norton-live update directory.

I have this computer for about half a year
the first thing I did was installing basic applications and right afterwards bf2, the problems only started a couple of months later.
          could some update be involved?
If so, what should I do?

I meant to ask if you have installed the chipset drivers too, and not just video and audio drivers. The chipset drivers are just as important to keep updated.

Norton I haven't used for a long time and for good reason. Might I suggest getting AVAST! Home Editiion, free for home use.
Download and it works for 60 days, if you reigster your email, you get they key. Free and jsut as good as Norton if not better.

Join hundreds of millions of others & get free antivirus for PC, Mac, & Android. Surf safely with our VPN. Download Avast!

If you have a norton firewall product, then there's free alteratives too, like ZoneLabs' ZoneAlarm.

There's another Sygate Personal Firewall which is my favorite, but Sygate has just been aqureid by Symantec (Norton) so this won't be around forever and has been replaced by Norton products sadly. You can still find the Sygate Personal Firewall on the Internet however:

Have a look at your PSU, it's probably the cause. 450 Watt is the minimum with your vidcard in it. If you run it in a 300-350 Watt box with such a card and ither equipment, it can cause pain. It's the first thing what came in my mind. Worth a check.

              Cheers

                Its a HEC 450 watt
and this occurs only in bf2

I uninstalled the norton antivirus, and it seems to be working fine
                [for now X:]
