    Read This---ive Cracked The Problem!!

Please take the time to read this as it will hopefully help your problems

i got battlefield 2 and special forces for christmas but special forces didnt install due to "patching failed", and i had the same porblem with all the patches. It also minimized and said 'VPU recover' malarkey while navagating the menu. It also crashed to the desktop on multiplayer at a random time.

BUT IVE FIXED ALL THAT! READ ON TO KNOW HOW......hehe.....

I phoned up EA and they offered to send me a new special forces and patch 1.12 on a cd.....so it arrived a week later.....it installed first time!........but.....i double clicked on the icon, the screen went back and VOILA, crashed back to the desktop.......so i phoneed up EA again and they suggested installing the latest sound and video drivers...i did......AND IT ALL WORKED!

AND I HAVE A RADEON 9200 WHICH ISNT EVEN COMPATIBLE!

i hope it works for you

LOL...installing latest sound and video drivers to fix a problem...never heard of THAT one

If you'd read the FAQ..you'd see that listed as one of the #1 things to do.

the guys at EA are either dumb or lazy as hell, here goes my conversation :

me: Hi, i've got a problem with my game... i've got flickering graphics and i've tried everything, installing all the latest drivers for my videocard, motherboard chipset and soundcard.... can you guys help me !?

EA: what kind of videocard do you have ?

me: i had the problem with both the ati radeon x600 and the x850 xt pe

EA: ok, well here is a list of the supported cards ...( he gives me the list)

me: yeah i know that, both the cards are on there but i still get the problem.

EA: ok, well have you installed all the latest drivers for you videocard, chipset and soundcard already ?

me: yes, i just told you.

EA: ok well, we'll keep your case open and we'll try finding the problem.

never heard from them since... and this was roughly over a month ago..

                  nice one EA !!
