failed to install

I have searched the posts to no avail. help please. After completing a clean uninstall I am unable to reinstall BF2. very shortly after the process is initiated (about 30 secs), I receive a "failed to install Battlefield 2. Try again from the beginning" error. This is while trying to instal the common client.zip file. I have shut down everything from running in the background that I can. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried installing from the hard drive?

are there any scratches on the disc cuz i scratched my disc once and it would always fail at the same file.
