Kit Unlocks not Working

Hello, I'm new to this forum so take it easy on me. I have two accounts, sgtkiller549 and samurai549, one corporal, one sgt. I have the latest patch for bf2 and I've unlocked all the weapons I wanted for those two accounts. (Sniper+Spec ops for Corporal. Sniper, Spec Ops, Assault for Sergeant). I recently bought Battlefield 2: Special Forces, and it says on the Battlefield 2 site, to reinstall the 1.2 patch to get the Special Forces kit unlocks for the base kits you've already unlocked. So I did that but...I can't get the Scar-L for spec ops, or the F2000 for Assault. Now people in servers (BF2 and BF2:SF) have been telling me that I need to gain a new rank before I get all the weapon unlocks for Spec Ops and Assault even though I already have the base ones unlocked. If anyone can tell me what to do that would be greatly appreciated, the only time I get to use SF guns is in SF but I'd like to use them on regular BF2. Many thanks.

try playing a server on sf for a couple of minutes and try that

If you didn't compare my account, you'd see that I played Special Forces for about 3 hours already and have received basic grappling and basic Spec Ops Specialist and other medals like that but no kit unlocks. Thanks and try again.

SF is the lamest thing to happen since EA came up with the weapons for stats program.

Your Corporal account doesn't get an extra unlock from SF yet since the added unlock slots start at Sergeant. If you've played at least one round of SF using the Sergeant account you should have gotten one new unlock. Both accounts should get 2 unlocks for each new rank from now on (or at least until Sgt. Major/Master Gunnery Sgt.).

I was about to start a new thread on a weapon unlock issue, while donning my flame retardant suit, but your thread title actually fits my question. So if I may...

What decides when you can actually use the weapon you have unlocked?

After unlocking the Jack Hammer for the USMC Engineer I have been able to use it on a couple of Ranked Multiplayer Maps, but not all Ranked Maps. I created a local multiplayer game to see if weapon unlocks were an optional filtered item but saw no choice. Coincidentally the local game I created did not allow me to select the Jackhammer either. I went to Singleplayer Maps to practice with the jack hammer, but no joy there.

If this is a game support issue then please forgive the intrusion and I'll go annoy the the support forum.

Thank you JDRou. I played Special Forces for about 2 hours just now on my Sergeant account and believed I gained a rank I'm not quite certain, but when I got out the game (I was in the same server for the two hours) a kit unlock popped up so I don't know what to do. Should I wait to see if I actually received Staff Sergeant or should I unlock a weapon now or when I get to Staff Sergeant unlock 2 weapons or 3, seeing as how you said they'd give me 2 for each new rank. I'll play on my corporal and see if I get 2 or 3 since I'm like 300 points away. Thanks for your help

All ranked servers should let you use your unlocks I believe. There is an occasional bug where you don't get your unlocks and your rank shows wrong because of some problem connecting to the account server; it seems to clear up if you leave and reconnect to the server.

You can't use unlocks in SP or local servers unless you run a mod or point to a non-EA account server that allows them (mods can have their own stat system).

Not sure if this is related, but I've been unable to use my unlocks as well. I just purchased the expansion pack last night, installed, and repatched 1.12. Played for a few minutes and got the unlock message. Dropped out of the game, chose my unlocks (I'm a Master Sergeant, so I had 4 or so).

After joining a new game, I've been unable to use my new unlocks. One server did allow me to use them for one round, then the map changed, and I've been unable to use them there since. I've tried multiple servers, including servers I admin (so I know that they're configured to allow unlocks). The unlocks show up in BFHQ, though not on BF2S yet... but it hasn't updated my profile since late December.

Really kind of annoying. Have no problems access the basic unlocks, though.

Are you playing vanilla BF2 or SF? I don't think you can use the new unlocks in SF unless you are playing as SAS. They should be usable as any army in vanilla BF2.

I've tried both and not received them yet. On the one occasion that I did get to use them, I think I was MECSF (and it was the Medic G36, specifically).

I'm operating on the assumption that the account/stats server has a huge delay again. Oddly, I've never been award First Sergeant, though I far exceed the requirements according to ubar.bf2s.com, and beat a friend who has the rank on every stat. *shrug*.
