Teamwork score is at least 40 in a single round

Iv'e been trying to get this ribbon too, for quite some time now.

The Meritorious Unit Ribbon

- Team Score of 40 in 1 round (Revives/Re- supplying/repairing/Capturing/Defending/Neutralising Flag Points)

I can probably tell you why you are not getting this:

Unless you are actually recording the time, 26 mins is a LONG time for a round of bf2 to go for in normal course of events.

You need to get a clock or stopwatch and time it properly. I tried a bunch of times to get my armour ribbon, it was always the time that screwed me, go find a half full 64 karkand, or oilfields or kubra.

If you medwhore, you'll get the 40 points easy in karkand, and if it's half full, you should get the time as well.

try out different servers, for some reason some dont work... the award system is sometimes buggy and you need more than the standard requirements for the badge in order to get it. get more than 40+Teamwork points and more than 30 mins in a server, see if it works or not. it happened to me too, i had to get 60 points and 30 mins in order to get mine for some reason..., keep trying.

I don't think you read his post he made afterward about how he mixed up the Meritorious Ribbon with the Meritorious Badge.

Eh, I don't remember at all receiving the ribbon but I do have it. I figure if you try too hard to get it, you won't receive it because you're so focused on getting 40 team points. Just relax and heal + revive people at the right times. Don't be an ass and revive someone right in the middle of an APC or soldier shooting at you.

Also, 40 team points aren't that hard to receive. You also must remember that it must say 40 for the 2 section underneath where there is a little square showing a wrench, medic cross, and bullets. That's your team points. The category to the left of that is global points. There's a difference.

Assuming that the player is REALLY getting the pts required and has all other prerequisites the possible reasons for failure that I've heard are:

1. some ranked servers don't handle the records of players correctly and either do not record info at all or do not transmit to EA central.

2. The player is not counting their #'s right. Where it may have been 30 min in real time but when you factor time to spawn, etc. you need to have more than 30 min. total.

3. You actually DO receive an award but you don't see the "congrats" note until after you finish the map, logout of BF2, log back in..then you see the msg. (this has happened to me a bunch of times)

4. There are "secret" prerequisites which we don't know about.

5. *I am adding this one* I know that some awards require you to go team damage free, teamkill free and maybe even require YOU not be tk'ed or td'ed by someone. If you pop your buddy with just ***ONE*** pistol shot to the foot just screwing around then forget it - the award will not come to you that map. You blew it. Maybe some of the other awards carry the same requirement but it is just not listed. Maybe it's suicide. Maybe if you kill yourself one time you disqualify.

All other thoughts I've heard on this were just noob guesses from what I've seen. Anyone have another solid reason why you may not get an award even after you've satisfied all requirements?

I am wondering something... is it generally newer players this is happening to? For example, if ribbon-A is generally attained somewhere between 10,000-20,000 pts for most players but someone is able to finish all requirements in 5000 pts maybe there are other things that happen between 5000 and 10/20000 points which has to be satisfied too and are not yet. I am very interested to know if this problem is consistantly happening to guys with 2-10,000 global pts (for example). If it is generally the new guys then, to me, that is a big clue on why this happens. The guys who say this never happens to them... do they have 20,000 pts already? (even though the award has no claim to need a certain # of global pts.)

Everyone get what I am saying?

Just to throw my opinion in, when I got the ribbon I was part of a squad that moved around the map together helping each other out - as a squad.

I don't think it is enough to simply be in a squad for a certain amount of time and get the required team points. I think everything has has to be done WITHIN the squad, heals, revives, repairs, resuppplies, kill assists, capture assists, it all counts.

I could be wrong, but those are the circumstances in which I got the ribbon, and (as an aside) why it's the ribbon I'm most proud of.:yay:

That can't be all there is to this puzzle. You must have been missing something else too. And when you got it then you became eligible for the merit.unit ribbon. I mean 109 is a crazy # to have to get.

No idea if anyone mentioned before but those 2 requirements have to be met in THE SAME ROUND. It's like that with all ribbons.

Cool you got it though. I recently got Valorious Unit Ribbon and Legion of Merit Ribbon in the same round of Kubra Dam. I think I had 24 flag captures in that round which was only possible because ther were like 20 people on a 64 player server and as usuall, no defense on the opposing team.
