joysticks are llama, i use a keyboard and mouse and i can out fly alot of people. what i do it switch my yaw with my roll so that yaw is on my mouse rather than roll, its more intuitive. anyways, a good pilot only slows down to cannon armor or helis, or to not stall when going too high. with practice you can tell whats a valid ground target with just a glance. you see, the slower you go, the more likely it is for an enemy jet to shoot you down, and its easier for aa to shoot you down when going slow. im pretty much full throttle when i fly. honestly, every time i encounter an enemy jet with its wheels down, they are an easy target for me to destroy in seconds, so dont fly at half speed unless you wanna get shot down.
anyways this is how you look for targets. switch to bomb mode and scan the ground for boxes, ones that are moving are valid targets, ones that are static should be confirmed by your map, they could be friendlies just outside thier vehicle. you can tell what kind of vehicle it is based on its speed, buggies and jeeps are the fastest, so they just need cannon, and apcs and trucks are a little slower, and tanks are slowest, its best to use bombs and cannon on these guys. if you are good you can score a direct hit on a tank and finish it with a cannon. if you see a box but dont have enough time to hit it, just fly aways off then turn and attack it, you are not obligated to kill everything on the first pass, that ends up making pilots hit the ground. if the enemy has no vehicles at all, just do a low altitude pass and look for patches on enemy, remember that location and strafe it.
